01

Look & Scan

$149flat

About 30 minutes at the car

A trained look and a full scan. Verdict on the spot.

For: A cheaper car, or one you already mostly trust, and you want a mechanic to tell you it isn't a disaster before you pay.

  • Full OBD scan: stored, pending and permanent codes, plus the readiness monitors that catch a cleared check-engine light
  • VIN plates matched, ownership checked, odometer read against the wear
  • Under the hood: the cold start, fluids, leaks, belts, battery
  • Walk-around: panels, paint, glass, lights, tires and date codes
  • A flashlight look underneath for rust, leaks and fresh undercoating over rot
  • Verdict in person, then a short text with photos of anything that matters

No road test, no measurements, no written report. Upgrade on the spot for the difference if something needs measuring.

The Works

$399flat

About two hours at the car

The full inspection, on video, with me on the phone after.

For: A nicer car, a European car, anything over $20,000, or a buyer who wants zero doubt.

Everything in the Full Inspection, plus

  • Extended road test: a full warm-up cycle, highway, rough pavement, an ABS stop, lock to lock
  • Narrated video walkthrough of the engine bay, the underside and every finding, so you see it, not just read it
  • A debrief call the same day: what I'd pay, what I'd walk from, what to fix first
  • Your negotiation sheet, written: the findings, the published ranges, the message to send the seller
  • A first-90-days plan for the car, priced from the same published rate card
Book The Works

Every package: flat price, no parts, no hourly meter, at the seller's location in Mississauga, Oakville, Milton, Brampton and Etobicoke. The seller keeps the keys and nothing gets taken apart. If you buy the car and I do a repair the report found, the inspection fee comes off it.

Side by side

What each one gets you.

Everyone says "150-point". Mine are published and numbered, and so is the report you get. This is exactly where the three packages differ.

Reviews

Five stars on Google, quoted in full.

Three real reviews, never a name. The jobs behind them are written up with the actual price paid.

“Fares did some major repairs on my GTI, including brakes, rear main seal and transmission fluid change. He is professional, capable and courteous. Despite the terrible weather he persevered, and got the job done. Very happy with his work.”

Google review, five stars, August 2026

“Fares came by and did the brakes on my 2021 Lexus RX350. I got quoted way more at a shop so I decided to try a mobile mechanic instead. He showed up on time, did the work in my driveway, and everything went smoothly.”

Google review, five stars, 2021 Lexus RX350

“Wonderful and quick experience, charged me way less than the dealer and he did the work in my driveway in the cold. I really appreciate all the hard work.”

Book it

Hold a window. No callback.

A used-car deal runs on a clock, so this is the one job on the site that never waits on a phone call. The windows in the form are real, and yours is held the second you lock it.

  1. 1

Pick a package and a window

Two-hour windows, Monday to Saturday, from the live calendar. Change the package on the day if you want more; you pay the difference, never twice.

  2. 2

I meet the car where it's parked

A driveway, a dealer lot, a plaza. The seller keeps the keys and nothing gets taken apart. The moment you book, you get a text written for the seller, and a page written for them to forward.

  3. 3

Verdict first, report the same day

What I found, what it is worth against the published GTA ranges, and whether I would buy it. On The Works, the video and the debrief call come the same day too.

Prefer to text? 647-450-0406. I read them between jobs. Not buying, already own the car? Get a flat quote for a repair instead.

Straight answers

Asked before every booking.

Which one should I pick?

Private sale or sold as is: the Full Inspection, it is the one I would book. A cheaper car, or you mostly want a sanity check before you hand over cash: Look & Scan. A nicer car, a European car, or you want to see everything on video and talk it through: The Works. And you can move up on the day. If a Look & Scan turns up something that needs measuring, I upgrade it on the spot and you pay the difference, nothing twice.

Does the seller need to agree?

Yes, it is their car until you buy it. The ask is small on purpose: about an hour where the car already sits, nothing taken apart, nothing removed, they keep the keys, and they get a copy of the report. Most sellers say yes to one text, and that text is written for you the moment you book. There is also a page written for the seller you can forward. A flat refusal to allow any inspection is your answer, for free.

Is the price the whole price?

Yes. $149, $249 or $399, flat, no parts, no add-ons, no hourly meter, whether you end up buying the car or walking away from it. The price is confirmed in writing when you book and it does not move afterwards.

Is the fee credited if I buy the car?

Yes, and the terms are published rather than vague. The exact inspection fee on your invoice comes off one repair of $400 or more, on the same car, for something written in your report, booked within 30 days. No code, no coupon, it is written on the report. It does not apply to work I turn down (timing chains and belts, clutches, head gaskets, internal engine), to a different car, or if you do not end up buying.

Is this an Ontario Safety Standards Certificate?

No. This is a condition report written for the buyer by someone working for the buyer. A Safety Standards Certificate is a separate document with its own rules, issued only by licensed inspection stations, and it says nothing about engine health, how the transmission behaves warm, slow leaks, or how the car was treated.

What happens if the car fails?

There is no pass or fail, there are findings and a verdict, and three outcomes. It checks out and you buy with confidence. It needs work but it is fixable, and the report is your negotiating sheet: 3 mm of rear pad is a number, not an opinion. Or it has deal-killers, structural rust, flood signs, an engine that has been run hot or dry, and the fee just saved you thousands. The only losing move is not looking.

Where do you go?

Mississauga, Oakville, Milton, Brampton and Etobicoke, wherever the car is parked: a driveway, a dealer lot, a plaza. That is the zone because it is the area I can get to reliably. If the car sits outside it, I will tell you straight rather than take the booking and let you down.

Found the car?

Book the window. I meet the car.

Pick a package, hold a real two-hour window, and the report is in your hands the same day. Mississauga, Oakville, Milton, Brampton and Etobicoke.
