Working in Oakville.

Oakville runs from Glen Abbey and West Oak Trails up top to Bronte and Kerr Village by the water, with Joshua Creek and River Oaks in between, and I cover all of it. A lot of Oakville cars are newer, leased or European, which changes the conversation slightly: I keep factory parts bagged for lease-return day, the build record notes everything for the dealer file, and on euro platforms I already know which fasteners fight back. Quiet street, tidy driveway, no drama, the way Oakville likes it.

What the price includes.

  • Hardwire kit installed with an add-a-fuse on the correct circuit
  • Voltage cutoff configured so parking mode never strands you
  • Cable routed invisibly: headliner, pillar, trim, no drape, no tape
  • Rear camera run through grommets and panels, equally invisible
  • Settings done: time, parking mode, sensitivity, and a clip-pulling lesson
  • The install logged in your service record

The honest part.

Bring the hardwire kit, or ask me first.

Most cams sell the hardwire kit separately, and the right kit for your cam matters for the parking-mode cutoff. Send me your camera model before install day and I will tell you exactly which kit to add to the cart so everything arrives together.

Parking mode is honest about physics.

It sips from your battery behind a voltage cutoff, so a healthy battery shrugs it off. A battery already on its last winter will announce itself, and if I see that during the install, I will tell you straight rather than let the camera take the blame.

Questions people actually ask.

  • My car is leased. Should I even be modding it in Oakville?

Plenty of people do, sensibly. The rules of thumb: keep it bolt-on and reversible, keep every factory part I take off (I bag and label them for you), and plan the return-to-stock before lease-end. Dashcams, wheels, a tasteful drop that goes back to stock: all normal on leased cars. I will tell you straight if a specific mod is a bad idea on a lease.

  • How much does dashcam installation cost?

Front camera hardwired: flat $100 to $160. Front and rear: $160 to $260, the difference is entirely the hidden wire run to the back of the car. Exact number when you tell me the camera and the car. Add a second car the same visit and the trip charge logic works in your favour, worth asking.

  • Will it drain my battery?

Hardwired through a proper kit with a voltage cutoff, no. The cutoff watches your battery and shuts the camera down long before starting is at risk, which is the entire reason hardwiring beats the cigarette-lighter cable. The drain stories come from cheap direct-wired installs with no cutoff, which is the version I refuse to do.
